Supernova MKIV-10

The Earthquake Supernova MKIV-10 subwoofer is one of Earthquake’s most raw and unadulterated performance implementations of the SLAPS technology and the Supernova nameplate itself. Built with the singular obsession to take the bone-crushing power of SLAPS, XLT woofer geometry, and 450 Watts of Enhanced Class AB wattage to the realm of affordability. Throwing etiquette and moderation completely out the window, we have shamelessly shoehorned the proverbial BigBlock V8 into a subcompact, accepting full well that some people will find this much bass at this price point downright offensive. Enjoy harder-hitting music beats and thundering movie effects from a completely gimmick-free subwoofer. No blinking displays, useless remote controls, gift bags, or plastic novelty microphones! Welcome to Pure Performance!

SLAPS (Symmetrically Loaded Audio Passive System)

The patented Earthquake technology dramatically increases sub-harmonic frequency response and dynamic output capability. SLAPS overcomes the limitations of conventional closed and ported designs that prevent radical excursion and deep response. The powerful XLT active woofer is pneumatically coupled to the passive SLAPS device, both capable of 2-inch peak-to-peak travel, enabling battlefield-level effects to be reproduced effortlessly.

XLT (eXtra Long Throw)

Earthquake originally developed A woofer geometry for heavy-duty industrial subwoofers to expand excursion potential over regular long-throw woofers. The XLT motor structure allows extreme movement without reduced electromotive coupling, resulting in superior transient response and dynamics.

Enhanced Power

The amplifier is based on a tried-and-true Class AB output topology. Earthquake engineers have developed many circuitry innovations over the years, which, combined, lead to an enhanced operational state, increasing efficiency and survivability.

The Earthquake Sound Supernova MKIV-12 is nothing short of a powerhouse when it comes to delivering robust and well-rounded bass. The subwoofer, embellished in a sleek Black Ash finish, isn't just a feast for the ears but is aesthetically pleasing as well. It's well-equipped with a 450 Watts RMS built-in Class “A/B” amplifier that ensures the bass notes are not only heard but felt, living up to its brand name 'Earthquake'. The patented SLAPS (Symmetrically Loaded Audio Passive System) technology is a hallmark feature, providing a deeper dive into the low-frequency sounds and enhancing dB levels while saving energy. This technology coupled with a 12 db/Oct variable filter ranging from 40Hz to 180Hz, makes for a versatile device catering to a broad spectrum of bass preferences. One of the stand-out features is its 12" long-throw woofer which guarantees an authoritative and impactful bass response, adding depth and realism to any audio content. The bass retains its quality even at low volumes which is a testament to its superior sound delivery system. And when cranked up, the room-filling bass is nothing short of exhilarating, shaking the very ground it stands on, quite literally! The auto signal detection for on/off is a nice touch for ease of use, ensuring the subwoofer is ready to roar whenever you are.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Tremor of Bass that Resonates Through the Room

Title says it all. I have had this beast for 4 years and it has never disappointed. I am an audio collector/ flipper for extra income and the love of it all. This is only the second sub to remain without question. Diminutive in size and incredible output. I have to say it's the most musical I've come across. The others on here in sure have their phase switch set wrong or have their AVR set at the wrong frequency to blend with the other speakers. There is no way they can be serious. This thing hangs with my old Velodyne ULD-15 Board & Wilkins ASW-12 NHT SW-10 and an SVS PB-3000 all day across the board. Get it set it right and be amazed.

I currently on 4 different types of earthquake subs and they all out perform most conventional high end audio stuff that you buy in the big boy audio stores. I have the 1st generation supernova 15. I also have the Mini-me P8 and P10 plus this monster. I have many friends that have very expensive high end audio systems such as myself and all of them have converted over to earthquake subs because if you want musical bass that will literally break things this is the way to go. I am not exaggerating if I turn my system up in the basement in my man cave I can knock pictures off the wall on the 2nd floor of my home. If I were to put my system on the 1st floor of my home I would have the police called every other day because the subs are that nasty. You have to understand that earthquake has been in the sub business since the eighties. They were mainly a car audio company for years and won many competitions with their designs and speakers and over the past 20 years or so have dove into the home audio market which most people on the East Coast do not know about. They are kind of a little secret that everybody doesn't know about yet. Bottom line if you're going to spend $500 to $1000 on a high end sub and you want something that is musical but yet concussive consider earthquake!! For all the musical snobs out there, yes they are very adaptable to music as well as movies but yet at the same time if you're a hip hop freak and would like to rattle the fillings out of your teeth like a car system they will do that with out even breaking a sweat.🔊🤯

This is a great sub!!! It's a little pricey but it really produces crisp and clear lows. I use it with my Yamaha 152BL sound bar and the results are fantastic. I set the crossover at 70htz for mucsic and 100htz for TV and movies. When I really crank it, I know the neighbors must hate me lol. My living room is 15'x20' and at these settings it really fills up the room with pure sound. A good song to find out the power and true reproduction of the low end it" Dirty Laundry" by Don Henly with the Eagles. A perfect movie to listen to it is Appolo 13. When the rocket takes off, the lows and volume are tremdous and this sub takes it all and does it's job with out distortion. So, if it's in your budget, don't hesitate to buy one.

Just recently purchased the Earthquake Sound MKIV-12 Supernova. It replaced an old JBL 12" sub. After watching a couple movies on Blu-ray (The Expendables 3, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Django Unchained) I have to say I love this subwoofer. The louder you turn it up the better it sounds. My theater room is 12'x12', it fills the room with deep, sounding bass. My set up is a Onkyo THX2 receiver, and Mirage speakers. If you are looking for a subwoofer at this price, look no further.
